Water a precious natural resource that sustains our world. Almost 75% of the earth’s surface is covered with water. 97% of this is salty. Only 3% of the water on our planet is fresh water. It is locked in the ground, appears as surface water, or it is obtained from wells. Fresh water is vital to life.
Due to growing population and industrialization there is an acute shortage of fresh water. The more man interferes with the natural water cycle, the more difficult it becomes to provide a sufficient supply of quality water.
More than 50% of the population has no access to safe drinking water and about 200,000 people die every year for lack of access to safe water.
India is suffering from one of the world’s worst national water crises. Over 75% of households do not have clean drinking water, while 40% of the population will have no access to drinking water by 2030.
Today this demand can only be met with the help of modern technology.
Mission Mercy after research decided to use RO Plants for supplying drinking water to needy people.
Reverse osmosis, also known as RO, is a type of water filtration that can reduce up to 99% of the contaminants in water, including both larger particles and those that can’t be seen. This is typically a multistage process that includes pushing the water through a specialized, semi-permeable membrane. The end result is cleaner, safer water for drinking, cooking and other regular uses.
Currently one big plant is in operation under Mission Mercy and working on the 2nd one.
